Here’s The Thing

Success is really just doing 2 things really well:

  1. Figuring out the formula that works for YOU
  2. And consistently and persistently applying it, refining it and moving forward.

Coaching is your opportunity to figure out your formula and how to be consistent and persistent moving forward. 

Between coaching nearly 1o,000 hours in boxes and over several hundred hours in sessions, I have developed my own formula to support you in figuring out yours. And that body image is where it alllll started for me. If you’re here then that tells me it’s the same for you. So that’s where we’re going to start.

Here’s What We Are Going To Do

It starts off with You realizing something is up and that things need to change. Congratulations and welcome! You’ve already done that because you’re here. 

Next, we will connect for a 30-ish minute discovery call where we talk about what’s going on, how I can help and we decide of this would be a good fit for both of us. If all is well and good here, we touch base on logistics, schedule your first session and I will send you an assessment to see where you’re currently at with what you want to talk about- complete with a numeric value (AKA quantitative data for your situation. Remember that. I’ll tell you the reason in a second.)

Then we will have our 6 sessions that go in a cadence that looks like:

    • 1. Baseline + Possibility

This is where we get crystal clear on where you are, where you want to be and what’s getting in the way. Here we are getting a lay of the land.

If we were to look at it in terms of a trip, this is where we are thinking about where we want to travel to and how we are going to get there. We access the terrain and upcoming weather. Check the house to see what we can pack to make sure we are prepared, maybe we need to run to the store, that kind of thing.

    • 2. Status Download

This is like our first pitstop. Are we going the right way? Do we need to get more gas? Do you need to stretch your legs? How are you feeling? Are you getting car sick? Basically what’s changed since we last spoke. If you’ve never talked about this kind of thing, it’s a real eye opener so this session is a great time to report back because you now have a better idea of what you want and what to look for. Doing so supports us in building on what we have already talked about so that we can start to pick up speed in the car- or whatever vehicle we are traveling in. 

    • 3. How You’re Blocking Yourself

Now it’s time to go off roading. We are going to buckle our seatbelts and put it in 4 wheel drive.

This is where we start to do the deeper stuff. We start to look at those parts of ourselves we might have been denying or ignoring. And we do that without judgment, just with observation and awareness. We will spend some time talking about your internal narrative and the fact that approximately 97% of brain activity is subconscious, which is why you are feeling stuck.  

But good news! There are research proven techniques that can help you rewire your brain- and that’s what we touch on here.

    • 4. Reprogramming

Now we start to have fun out in the uncharted wilderness. We know where you are, we know what you want to go, you’ve seen some things and so now you are starting to make some new paths. 

This session is all about teaching you how to use those tools and techniques to “hack” your brain.

  • 5. Creating Systems For Success.

Now that you’ve done some things, tried some trails, we are going to work on creating systems and structure that will serve you in the long run. This looks like considering,

    • What old things do you need to let go of?
    • What new things do you need to bring in?
    • How can you set yourself up for more success?
  • 6. Maintenance.

And now we are looking at applying the cruise control. Can you take the hands off the wheel and go to sleep? No! (Well unless you’re in a Tesla but even then that’s risky). For our final session, we look back at your pre-session assessment and talk about the shifts you’ve experienced (see why those numbers were important now?)

The goal of this session is to make sure you have everything you need to spread your wings and fly. Which means that we talk about accountability and those big picture initiatives that so many people skip.

  • 6 sixty minute virtual Zoom sessions (1 per week. They will be recorded for you to refer to)
  • 1  midweek checkin per week via email/text between sessions
  • 24/7 access to me via text/voice note
  • Session notes provided via a Google Doc
  • Accompanying worksheets and/or action items (depending on the week) to support your success

Here’s Why Coaching With Me Is Different

Look, there are a TON of coaches out there. I know. And your time and money are precious resources and you should spend both of them freely in a way that you want that feels good.

So I encourage you to get really clear on who is a good fit for you and why. Who is your type of person? Who speaks the same language as you? Who do you respect? Who will hold you accountable? Who is going to give you the support you need? And what are you going to be getting?

What makes me, well, Me is that I have been coaching in SOME capacity for most of my life. I just didn’t realize that’s what it was called until I started coaching functional fitness, which then lead me to want to coach on mindset.

What’s cool is that the need for this is something that so. many. people. are becoming more aware of. In fact, that’s probably part of the reason why you’re here. So kudos to you for your self awareness and readiness to make some changes.

The downside is that there are a lot of “coaches” who haven’t actually gotten trained to do what they say they do. And I’m not knocking anyone. I just want to bring that to your awareness.

For me, when I want to learn about something I want to learn about all of it’s facets because you don’t know who is going to need what part of your knowledge until you are presented with the equation. So I didn’t JUST get certified to be a functional fitness coach. I also got certified in:

  • CPR + first aid
  • USAW Sports Performance
  • Spartan Training
  • And the next level of functional fitness, and I was pursuing the NEXT when there were shifts organizationally that inspired me to redirect

In terms of Life Coaching, I have:

  • Taken my certification 2x (once to become certified, once as a refresher. and by the way, the program was developed by a therapist and scholar
  • Am currently studying to become certified by the International Coaching Federation (the only real regulation on Life Coaching)
  • Have taken courses in psychology
  • Read and take notes and try the theories in books and research papers from professionals
  • And have every intention of pursuing my PhD

I am also not afraid to tell you when I don’t know something because my goal is to support you in figuring out your path- not to lead you down a path that will stroke my ego.
