Recipe! 3 Ingredient Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups!

Recipe! 3 Ingredient Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups!

I would like to start by thanking Meganator for giving me a bunch of random household items, of which included the dark chocolate chips I used to make these mouthgasams.

My inner foodie for always thinking of new ideas to please my taste buds.

And the internet. For providing me with tons of recipe options that I usually end up disregarding for the most part anyway.

I hate those recipe posts that take up the first 2 thirds of the page with bullshit about their life and feelings on the food. You know it looks delicious- that’s why you found your way to the page in the first place.

With that being said here’s what I did for these awesome homemake dark chocolate peanut butter cups.

INGREDIENTS

  • Dark chocolate (bar, chips, whatever)
  • Peanut Butter (I used Santa Cruz’s Organic dark roasted crunchy PB because it’s my favorite)
  • Coconut oil
  • Sea salt (optional)

*Amounts will vary depending on how many cups you make and what size they are. For 6 cups I made a la muffin tin I used about 8 oz. of chocolate (4oz. for the bottoms, 4oz. for the tops + 1 tablespoon of coconut oil per 4oz.)

EQUIPMENT

  • Heat safe container to melt chocolate in (I used a jar. No idea of whether or not that’s safe)
  • Pot to put the heat safe container in
  • Muffin tin/silicon mold/those little muffin papers

HOW-TO

  1. If using a muffin tin oil it up with some coconut oil
  2. Break up your chocolate and put it in the heat safe container. I heated the chocolate for the bottom and for the top at separate times as I was assembling these cups of awesome)
  3. Add coconut oil
  4. Fill the pot with water so that when your heat safe container is in it that it covers the chocolate.
  5. Boil the water and melt the chocolate. Stir chocolate occasionally until it looks smooth.
  6. Measure chocolate out evenly using a spoon to make the bottoms of your cups.
  7. Place these in the freezer for about 5 minutes
  8. Add the peanut butter. You can make a cute little flattened ball situation so that it will keep to the middle. Of you can slather on an entire layer of it like I did. Totally up to you.
  9. This is where the optional salt comes in. Being a salt lover myself I sprinkled some sea salt on top of the PB because it doesn’t have any added and there’s something about that sweet and salty combo that gets me going
  10. After your done with your peanut butter affair melt the rest of the chocolate and coconut oil if you haven’t already and evenly spoon it on top
  11. Back to the freezer for like an hour (I knooowwwwwww). You can technically eat them after a few minutes but if you are using a muffin tin they they don’t pop out so easily.
  12. To remove from muffin tin bang the muffin tin on counter and use a knife to pop out the cups (it’s true).
  13. Share at least one with someone you love because why would you not to want to give them multiple mouthgasams?
