Welcome!

I’m grateful that you found your way here! This is where I’m going to tell you a little about me- and hopefully that will inspire you to tell me a little about you. Allow me to get that ball rolling. Feel free to mentally (or verbally agree or disagree).

 

Let’s take it back. Everyone likes to know how we got to where we are right? So I don’t know about you yet but for me I was:

  • Dissatisfied with what I saw when I looked in the mirror
  • Going to school for a subject I wasn’t really passionate about
  • Only to then find myself working at a job I didn’t really like
  • Living every day like it was another ground hog day (movie reference for my millennials)
  • And just overall not happy

 

Then what changed? I found fitness. I know, I know. Uber cliche. But this is a judgement free zone and that’s what happened. The type of fitness specifically? CrossFit. And I am happy to report that I still coach it today (Come take a class! My schedule is below!).

But it wasn’t like one day I walked in and the next day I walked out a new person. It was a slow change that happened over time. CrossFit was just the trigger. Years passed and then bada bing, bada boom: Here I am!

 

And thankfully here you are too. There’s a quote that says, “There are 6 billion people in the world. And I had the privilege to meet you.” Or some shit. Whatever- you get my point. There’s a shitton of people so I’m one of those people that thinks everything happens for a reason. Beside- you’ve read this far so you might as well make the most of it.

 

So this is what you will find here:

  • Inspirational shit (quotes and pep talks and the like)
  • Real shit (via my words/videos/persona)
  • Workout things (like tips, how-tos and at home workouts)
  • Food things (such as food recommendations and recipes that don’t taste like ass)
  • Etc. (some randomness from time to time)

I currently hold a CF-L2 (stay tuned for CF-L3), USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach certification and Spartan SGX Training Certification. I can currently be found coaching CrossFit classes at a local affiliate and providing in-person and online training and meal plan recommendations for my clients where I actively help them reach their individual goals. Athletically I have been coached by Muscle Driver USA Coach Don McCauley and currently love my CrossFit training but you can find me doing things in a globo gym sometimes too (constantly varied, baby)!

What do I do ? Fitness, food, positivity, empowerment, etc. My approach to fitness is a holistic approach to wellness. I believe your biological, emotional and physical wellbeing are what being healthy truly means. Scientific evidence has shown that if you use quality foods to fuel your body and ensure that you practice acts of happiness that you will live a longer and healthier and more fulfilling life. Add in challenging your body via variable forms of fitness and movement your body’s response is to release hormones that give you energy, improve your mood, increase your confidence, help you focus, prevent injury and disease due to aging and external factors and more.

How I Got Into Fitness

Growing up I wasn’t exactly sure of what I wanted to do professionally. I never played sports and my participation in exercise wasn’t really existent.  In college I started to do some stuff. But even then I would try to eat as few calories as possible and spend time doing cardio- which I didn’t learn until later is NOT the right approach.

Several years after moving to Miami, and while I had an office job as an online marketer, I started CrossFit at Reebok CrossFit Miami Beach. And it changed my life. I saw the change it made in me emotionally and physically. I felt awesome and I was more positive and happier overall. I saw this same change happen with others who began CrossFit and I was hooked. Within a year I had my L1 and within 2 years I was coaching classes and had left my office job.

My transition from non-gym going party girl just floundering through life to healthy workerout-er with goals has been a gradual one. Like opening Pandora’s box. The more you know the more you want to change. I’ve gone from eating commercial, GMO foods to local organic products. I’ve made conscious decisions to produce less waste by using a reusable water bottle, reusable grocery bags, etc. I’ve started to look at life with a more holistic oneness approach. And I realized it feels good.

This realization peaked my interest and gave me a thirst that I have yet to quench. I am constantly looking for new avenues of fitness (check out my collaborations for some examples!) and ways to leave less of a footprint and more of a light on this world. I have seen the effects a healthy lifestyle can have and experienced it personally and I want to help empower others with the same confidence.

I wanted to give that gift to people. I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to change their lives. And now I do. Every single day. That’s why I am here.  No dream is too big and I help others realize that.
